yDecode General Discussion / Re: Outlook Connection Error

Like I already answered via email (check "spam" inbox if you didn't get it, you may have email filtering enabled), this is not related to yDecode Auto-Config. Auto-Config is usually done only once. The fact that you are getting a "480 Authentication Required" means the data is already passing through yDecode as this is server-reply data and that yDecode should be correctly configured (especially if you get no red-colored errors in Test Config button). This is a usual news server message when it asks for username and password and wrong ones are provided - it replies with this message and Outlook Express displays it as it got it from the server.
So the error message is pretty straightforward - you need to correctly input your username and password which are required by your server news.charter.net. You need to input username and password into Outlook Express news account properties (click on tab called Server and then check the checkbox called Server requires authentication and input username and password in 2 boxes just below it). Note that this is not yDecode username and password (which you use to download full version), this is different set of usename/password provided by news.charter.net.
Except checking for correct password you also might take a look if you are connecting from different Internet provider (for example, if you are connecting through this provider it may not require username and password but if you use proxy or another provider then it may want to ask you username/password - some servers can be configured like that - to allow you connecting from other provider but then they require a form of authentication through username and password).
